Testimony

Ernest worked as Internet Service Administrator at Abacus Computers Nyanza Ltd (VICWEB) for 3 years between september 2005 and september 2008 as Systems Administrator during which the company achieved great success and stable service operations.

He resigned from Abacus voluntarily to make Protocols a name in Netwkork and Internet Support

Management

Protocols is headed by Mr. Ernest OYUGI and Team Leader - Technical Services. Ernest has 20 years experience in Broadcast Engineering, Telecommunication & Data Communication (Modems, Dial-up, Leased Lines, X.25, and Kenstream), Computer Engineering & Networking (WANs & LANs) and, Internet Technology (LAN-to-INTERNET). He has previously worked as Customer Engineer, Systems Engineer, Network Engineer and Systems Administrator & Network Administrator.

Ernest was the first Kenyan to be trained at Sun Institute, Brussels, Belgium as Sun Solaris Microsystems Hardware Support Engineer & Systems Administrator. He has extensive experience in the support of computer hardware (Servers & Desktop Pcs), Windows NT/2000/2003, SCO-UNIX, RED HAT LINUX, Sun Solaris, Novell Netware and MS-DOS/Windows9X/NT/2000/XP), Network Devices (Hubs, Switches, Multiplexers, Concentrators).

He also has wide experience with Cisco Router Configurations from Design, Implementation and support of Cisco WANs on both Serial and ISDN Interfaces.

Ernest worked with reputable and major IT firms in Kenya namely Modern Business Communication LTD (MBC), Systems Reliability LTD, AMARCO (K) LTD and Skyweb Technologies LTD (an ISP). He was the Field Engineering Manager at Systems Reliability LTD, which later merged to form SYMPHONY LTD.

He also taught at the Kenya Polytechnic, Nairobi as part-time Lecture at the Department of Computer Studies and Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering.

Ernest worked as an expatriate at Computer Applications (CAL-BURUNDI) LTD in Burundi, and was Chef Hardware Analyste, Ingenieur i.e Chief Hardware Analyst, Engineer, and completed the following Projects:

1) BANCOBU – (Inter-Branch Country-wide Online Banking) – Design and Implementation of WAN on 2 Cisco 3745, six Cisco1721 and four Cisco836 Routers

2) CARE Burundi – Support for HP Compaq Windows 2000 domain, Internet Proxy & Mail Server

3) Engen Petroleum Burundi – Support for three HP Compaq Windows Server 2003 domain Servers

4) Ministere du Plan – Installation of windows 2000 server Domain network and Windows 2000 Proxy & Mail Server

5) SOCABU - Installation of HP Compaq SCO UNIX 5.0.7 Open Sever

6) Institut de Development Economique (IDEC) - Installation of LAN and HP Compaq 380 Windows 2000 domain, Proxy & Mail Server

7) ONATEL - Installation of HP Compaq Windows 2000 Applications Server

8) Ministere du Defense (Military Headquarters) – Installation of IBM Netfinity Server on Windows server 2003 and setting-up windows domain network.
